Very happy to have discovered Renerosity! Now between family, pets, cycling, hiking, snowshoeing, enjoying life, Second Life-- I'll have to give up sleep and work! (nasty habits anyway) LOLBIOI live in the Adirondack foothills with my family (now extended), pets, too much photographic equipment and snowshoes in a house once home to a "Titanic" survivor. I work in the environmental field when not otherwise enjoying myself. My goals are to keep doing new things and to surprise more strangers by smiling at them! You may run into me in second life as Snogeez Peregrine, There as SnoGeez, and in real life as Larry Glasheen!

Nice composition, not sure if seeing the top of the mast would improve it or not. Seems a bit soft on the beach part with the rope. Correct me if i am wrong but isnt that the Red Ensign - ie british?

Rich(inshaala) Yes that is the British flag. The two sides of the conflict were the french and their Indian allies versus the British, the colonists, and their Indian allies...heard a great deal about it y'day and today. The cropping was to cut out a parasail going behind the bateaux, and to minimize shoreline development so as to minimize the amount of PSP work to render the background as it would have appeared at the time.

I'd say it is a perfect crop and an awesome capture!! Love the lighting on this dark little ship with it's little cannon aimed right at the viewer! Fantastic photo Rufous and I'm kicking myself for missing the event this weekend hehehe.. Excellent!
