Description
A dedication to a real life mule that I have had the great fortune to know for over 12 years. The modern age of tractors and machinery have done away with the usefulness of these creatures and it's a sad thing to see them become obsolete.

So well done I feel really sorry for him. we still bother the one on our farm with work and he often gets quite annoyed about it.

Mules are wonderful--and I doubt they will disappear entirely, they are too smart and useful. My grandfather used to plow with them in Sacramento, and preferred them to using the tractor. For one thing, they could calculate how long it would take them to plow a row, and if it would take them past 5:00 (quittin' time) they wouldn't start the row! Also my grandfather had a mule that he would ride to school--it would only let him ride to and from school, except one day when he had snuck some booze in the barn with his brothers and was too plastered to get back to the house on his own--then the mule let him climb on and walked him, no bridle no saddle, up to the ranch house! It's such a lovely pic, Shari!

Sepia color improves nostalgy. Excellent render of the old passed time where men used animals but probably loved them also.

This is so beautiful, both visually and emotionally. Always sad to see progress take away one's usefulness. Fortunately we never forget. :o) CC
