Description
I decided to go to the Pate museum outside of Ft.Worth yesterday and here are some of the classics
1953 Buick Skylark convertible
1934 Pierce Arrow Silver Arrow
1938 Longhorn hand built by Oliver Albert of Gonzales, Texas
all body panels were hand formed from parts of 14 cars of different makes
construction took 12 years.the Longhorn had a 120" wheelbase,
is 19'4" long, and sits 3'9" high.it weighs 2800 pounds and is powered by a 1941
Lincoln v-12.tires are mounted on 10" wheels
all belongs to the Pate Mueseum outside of Ft Worth, Tx on hwy 377 south

The white car has a fantastic design. Looks like if the first post-war Panhard has decided to become even bigger as a Dalahaye clothed by Figoni-Falashi but not with such a supreme taste than the Figoni-falashi had. Interesting to see

I once attended a contest outside South Quad where resident engineers were exhibiting a 1953 Buick Skylark and a Devin bodied shortened flathead chassis with Dayton wire wheels. The question of interest was "Who has the squeekiest wheels?" Later a Cutlass with fake wires and plastic button centers won the contest hands down but this contest forever established the non-welded spoke challenge of the century. Did I just say a trademarked word, "Century?" Strike that and use "venture." Too close to "Ventura"; could be confused? Luckily the "Longhorn" has appeared. It looks very strange for a Chevy pickup with a 9 foot box.

Really cool cars and excellent photographs-bet your having fun in your new Toy'O Duh....NOT A TOY at those prices! Ive been to the Peterson car museum in Los angelus-cool-real fancy & some movie cars.
