I'm from Norway (that tiny, freezing country on the northern edge of Europe/the World) - where I live in a small town called Molde (on the west coast). I've been running around with an SLR since I was eight (I'm now 40...). My first camera was donated by an uncle that effectively got rid of the backup to the backup of his backup camera... I eventualy went digital when I bought a Canon 20d, which since has been replaced by a Canon 5d MkII. It's all just a hobby, but a hobby that devours quite a lot of my free time. I (almost) exclusively shoot landscapes and macros (as can be seen in my gallery).

Great memorial to a painful encounter that ended badly for the horsefly. Gorgeous macro in any case, and now I know how you got so close! ;]

Now there is something you don't see every day. A hairy eyed fly, lol. I am a fan of insects but if they bite, I also smack them. I posted a smacked horsefly image recently. His eyes were not hairy but they were wildly colored, lol. I only stunned mine but he was then given as a gift to a nearby garden spider.

Superb macro. It's beautiful.

Well, if you had to kill it then I think it was a good thing to have made it's demise not in vane and to have captured its rare beauty and detail in this photo. Good job.

"Jeepers creepers where'd you get those peepers", Another reminder that while looking for beauty elsewhere it usually passes unnoticed. Perhaps she wanted yor attention, LOL it seems she got it. She's now "rendered" immortalized. Thanks for sharing. BJ
