Description
A being that inhabits the air and is mortal but soulless.
The existence of such beings was first postulated by the medieval physician
Paracelsus, who associated a different being with
each of the four elements (earth, air, fire, and water).
I've included a coupla funnies by Einstein....
just watched a show last night on Einstein
and his famous formula and it brought to mind these quotes...

That's a wonderful depiction of a sylph, one of the four balancing spirits of the earth, Ms. Sun. Does this piece imply forthcoming images of earth, fire, and water? IIRC Alexander Pope satirized the existence of the sylph as the protectors of women's vanity in "The Rape of the Lock." In more modern net-lore sylphs are depicted as creatures of the air undoing man's best efforts to make our air unbreathable.
