Sometimes you just have to stop and smell the flowers.
I grew up with Vietnam Body counts on the evening news, back then I was luck and to young to have to serve. Now I am to old to serve in the current conflict, one thing that I still remember very clearly from my youth is how a simple thing like non-violent protesting stopped one of the biggest mistakes in US history.
I believe Love is stronger than hate and that someday soon, the strength of Love will turn our swords to plows.

Reminds me of the flower in the rifle barrel photo. I was in the mil at that point but was a " peacenik" all the same. I spent much off-duty time in my bell bottoms and tie-dye at peace rallies. I twas easier for me than the guys, they had military hair and were often looked at sideways when they showed up!

Yes, I completely agree with this motto. Starting with movies and TV, we are exposed to constant blood, violence and death, while love is left out of the game. That tells people that violence is Ok, while sex is evil. Right now North Korea is threatning Japan and the rest of the world with nuclear weapons, while we are too busy pushing "democracy" down the throats of the Iraqis. Our Mexican neighbors are going through deep socio-economic problems, while we are treating them here as criminals and willing to build a new Berlin wall right here in America to separate them from us. What happened to this great nation? O_o;;

And I really (insert 10 more here!) like this image - what a sweet idea and how true. The longer I roam in the internet the more I see that people all over the world do want the same things: make friends with others, have a good time together and enjoy peace. So what's going wrong with a small minority?!?!?
