Description

On a long and hard campaign far from home, how does the brave Captain use his rare moments of quiet solitude? ------- I think of this piece as the third of a developing series: "Under the Skin" (first was 'Loss' which was quickly followed by 'Despair'). I think of these as relatively simple pieces about The Human Condition. No matter who we are, despite our social status or appearance, we all have much more in common than many of us are willing to admit. ------- Rereading the above leaves me feeling that it doesn't quite say what I'd intended...and I'm appalled at the pedantic (maybe even a bit preachy) tone. I feel almost nostalgic when looking at this, or at least the look on his face. The look on his face and the sky and the water, i believe, are contributing factors. VERY nicely done!!!! Thank you.
