Description

Been working on this picture now for about three days or so. I wanted to do something a bit more atmospheric then I usually do, looking at Horselips work for inspiration here The terrain is one I got from here -- Mayday canyon... I have seen this same terrain used by a few other people, so when I had this idea, I knew this would be the terrain to try . I had tried several times over the past few weeks to get a good image out of this terrain, but nothing was sitting right with me. I figured it would be the same this time around. I played a bit before getting the right angle for this one, as well as, getting to right zoom as well, as I found out that the zoom plays havoc with the clouds With the clouds, I did something I dont usually do, that is use 2D clouds... I thought they worked alot better for this piece. The atmo and the surface is all mine, the texture is one I got from I believe horselips as well many months ago now. (so glad it shows up for a change). Hope you all like it.

Looks good!!! I love the POV. A lot different than I am used to seeing. I see that even though you left, you still are putting your laptop through hell. :-)

Yes, B&W reflects well the impending doom as the sun expands to consume the earth, also like the frayed, harried clouds. Excellent work.
