A little painting of the hair on crystal...just trying to paint hair with this primitive mouse need to get off my butt and get a wacom tablet...thanks for viewing

Beautiful pic,if you did the hair in photoshop on seperate layers you might try copying it and doing a "color burn" on it,sometimes it helps... It's already better than I could do though...

Not bad with a mouse, I couldn't do a thing with mine.. Yes you need a wacom tablet, it's like heaven once you get used to it. Great job on this picture. =)

Not bad and pretty good texture to it. The problem with the mouse is it's the sensitivity isn't there. One counteraction you can take to that though is to make very small changes to the opacity and size, starting out largest to smallest, darkest to lightest. Won't come out quite like the tablet, but will give the hair some base, etc...Color burn for me never comes out right...Hope this helps....

It came out pretty good, but as you say, there's no depth there. Did you find those brushes? I find they help a lot.
