Description
For babuci and valouchufy!!!
Northern Lights (Aurora Borealis) taken facing North East,just after midnight September 24th, 2006.
Unfortunately, the sky was not cloud free...but in this case the clouds added somewhat to the display. The orange glow on the clouds is the reflection of city lights.
I will post a few more from last night's display in the next few days.

nice shot! i was unlucky enough to be under complete cloud cover (and a bit of rain) last night otherwise i would have been out there (you can apparently see them from where i am on high activity nights - St Andrews, Scotland). The clouds certainly add something to this shot, good job!

OOOHHH! THANK YOU! MUAHHH! This is a first aurora shot I ever seen, where a sky covered with clouds and this time glad for a city light! Fantastic harmony between a glowing green and the orange "background "! High 5 for a shot!

Long long ago and far away from where I am now, I saw such wonders with my own eyes and was bewitched by those amazing displays. Your image captures some of that awe. The scale just isn't big enough, lol. Not your fault. No camera could capture an entire sky full of color. Great shot. Love the star twinkles.
