BIO:
Okay, time for an update. ^^
I'm still trying to find my way through the 3D world, having started with 3D Studio Max, moved to Lightwave 3D, which I stuck with for several years, and am now trying to learn Maya, which has had my attention since I got to be a part of the launch of this amazing software so many years ago.
I've been everything from a Custodian to a Jr. SysAdmin, Call Center Rep., New Media Designer, Computer Salesperson, Computer Tech, Software Demo Jockey, and Bank Teller. I've done a good amount of freelance work on the side, doing logos and web designs for various clients, and a few small shorts for a convention here or there. Lately, I'm trying to get back to my roots in working on 3D stuff more seriously, and I hope to someday be able to find steady paying work in it. I love the idea of photorealistic 3D visualization, as can be seen by some of my older work, and I hope to get back into that once more, but in Maya this time. I'm a part-time photographer, having done work from nature to landscape to pets, and I hope to be able to make some money doing this part time as well.
I should also note that I'm going through these books:
Learning Maya 7 | Foundation (Halfway through this one)
Learning Maya 7 | The Special Effects Handbook (This one just arrived 2 days ago and will be my next project)
As I'd mentioned before, here are some things I am interested in as they apply to graphics and 3D work:
- Photorealistic Renderings/Visualizations
- HDRI
- Photorealistic Texturing
- Organic Modeling
- Nature Photography
- Landscape Photography
- Macro Photography
Please check out some of my favourite images and artists, there are some awesome people out there! (oh yeah, and be sure to comment on my stuff, too!)

Very professional job on this prop. Makes me want to try Lightwave too! ;)

Very nice work. Looks very much like Luke's lightsaber from Episode IV: A New Hope. Kudos.

Thanks! I have an actual graflex flash tube here that I'm building a physical prop from, but I thought it would be great to have one in 3D as well, and its a fun project. :)
