Description

Deep in a forest of Coast Redwoods near Woodside CA. If I squint, I see a nice circle. N-D70 photo. PhotoShop and Painter Instructions In PhotoShop: Image:Adjust:Shadows/Highlights, Edit:Transform:Rotate Edit:Transform:Distort to put upright and remove some camera perspective distortion. Export to Painter. In Painter: Clone, then apply Effects:Surface Control:Sketch filter. Save sketch clone as new PSD file. Clone again and apply Effects:Surface Control:Woodcut filter. Set the output to black only. Save woodcut clone as new PSD file. Clone again and make a serigraph of about ten layers (click on Canvas, pick next color, apply Effects:Surface Control:Serigraphy for each of ten colors). Save serigraph clone as new PSD file. In PhotoShop: Open all the saved files and paste into new layers in a new document. The sketch and woodcut layer mode should be set to "Multiply" and these layers moved above the serigraph layers. The result is like a detailed engraving printed over a lithograph or serigraph. (PhotoShop CS2 and Painter IX were used, but CS and CS2 both have Shadows/Highlights which can be skipped depending on your photo. Painter IX Woodcut,Sketch,Serigraphy have been there for several versions) Enjoy! Hope that's clear. Let me know. Please try it on your photos!

Woodcut? Guess I need CS2! Great image! Reminds me of Roger Dean for some reason?

This is AWESOME!! I love the effect. It has a nice touch of blue sky and bits of dark value tones....and, yes, I see the circle...or I think it's a circle, lol.
