Dear All,
I have 4 hours to kill here in Schipol Airport - Amsterdam, before I fly to Toronto for a week of work. I thought then that I'd use the time usefully by posting this image. It was taken in the Cayman Islands earlier this year while on holiday. The image is of a friend or a friend and his son. The young lad had recently been told off for misbehaving at the b-b-q and was in the dog house, off he went in a sulk. I was chatting with Shawn (the dad pictured) for a while and then he said he had better go for a swim as he had promised his son. The young lad was still sulking but once his dad went into the pool to have a swim with him you could see the lad perk up. He never smiled directly at his dad but I captured this moment when the joy in his little heart was plain. It made me think that these hidden smiles, as I call them, are like a window into the soul. If only his dad could see just how happy his decision had made his son. I know I don't tell my dad and mum just how much I love them both nearly often enough or my friends just how much I miss their company...we just don't do we.... well if they read this they will know (I hope) that when I am with them, or thinking of them I have a permanent "hidden smile" even if I don't always show it.

Moving words....and something i can relate to as well. Dont know if its only my family or some sick swedish flaw in character but we never tell eachother we love eachother. I do belive those moving words of yours just inspirered me to open up more. Thanks. #:O) Beautiful photo by the way. #:o)
