Description

Hi everyone! It's been a really long time... last pic I uploaded here is now almost prehistoric ;) Many things happened in my life and I was somewhat forced to stay away from Rosity... gee, the new website, it's so cool! Still have to catch the feel of it. I have no Internet connection at home right now, I'm using the office's, so my presence won't be as it was in the past, but I finally took the time to take a look around and hey-ho I'm *glad* to see so many people still around rendering their heads away! :) Ok, enough rant for now and let's go back to business (I will drop by the Old Family Forum as soon as I can and I'll reserve for that moment my greetings and my really really heartfelt "glad-to-see-ya-agains" and all that). This image, as you can see, it's really nothing special. Frankly, I think it sucks big time, LOL :) Basicly I've done it to scrub away the thick coat of rust I accumulated in these almost two years of abs(tin)ence, and to regain some familiarity with XSI. Some tinkering with the RenderTree, a bunch of balls and stretched cubes, some Global Illumination, a couple of area lights with volumic properties and my indecent modeling somewhere for a 45 minute render. That's more or less all I can say about this one. More and better - I hope - to follow soon. I said "more or less" because I do have an important credit to give: all the mats you see in the pic are from "World Matters" DVD by SubDimension Studios. My thanks, really, to Brandon Brice, author of a wonderful collection of tileable, seamless, incredibly versatile and useful textures. More info for you, if you're interested, at mrbrice@subdimensionstudios.com -- thanks a lot, Brandon, and sorry if I made you wait so long! As for you all out there, my long-time friends, I'm so glad to be back in Rosity that if I told you how much I am you won't believe it :) -- Please feel free to write me at . I'll look and comment your art as often as possible: I'm here to stay, this time, or so I hope. Take care 'til the next one. Stefano.

It's great to see that none of that rust is showing, lol! You are right... these are great mats. Only you could take a few stretched cubes and some spheres and make them look so good :)

Fantastic nothing special image....I was just browsing the whats new gallery when I saw one that looked just like the way that Doublecrash used to present his images....so I looked at the screen name...and had to rub my eyes and look twice at the name. IT REALLY IS YOU!!!!!! It's great to see you post again Stefano and hope to see more from you in the future.

I was just making my start when you up and left, but yours was the first gallery I visited at renderosity, and what convinced me to give digital art a go. It's wonderful to have you back.

You know, I was wondering what happened to you just the other day! Not that you'll remember me, but I'm glad you're back - even your renders that "suck big time" are pretty nice :)
