Description
G'day.
I have just got back from a week at Wilsons Promontory about 2.5 hours drive south east of Melbourne.
It is an amazing granite promontory of huge mountains and crystal clear beaches and faces south towards Tasmania and gets huge cold wind/sea currents from Antartica.
It is approx 40km long and 15km wide in size and is joined to mainland Australia by a sand bar (ismuth).
Geologically speaking: they say when the sea was lower that the Australian Aborigines went via Wilsons Prom to get to Tasmania many (tens) thousands of years ago.
It is now all presrved as a National Park and has some of the best beaches and wildlife in the world!!
This is the first of a 10+ day series on beaches/things from the "prom".
Enjoy
Lou

I really like the way the gentle browns are reflected so nicely on the glassy watered beach. Very nice.
