Description

Nikon 7900 image. Apparantly the week I spent trying to get Damselfliy pics was mating week, lol. Although I did get some shots that did not involve sex, a lot of them did. Here is another shot of the egg laying actions of these tiny flyers. Of the 60 or so different species of Damselflies in Texas, about 25 of them live in my part of the state. I have had some difficulty in identifying the specific species of them because of the variations in color due to breeding displays. I am pretty sure I have managed to capture at least 3 or 4 varieties, all of which are "pond Damselflies. The full size view is full of detail for those interested. Lee

Very original photo of that kind. The view is different than usually on the site: It seems to be a macro, but it is not really, and the large view allowed you to give it another artistical touch in the excellent composition.

Wonderful! Did you notice the diamonds in their wings! How cool. Do they vary from damsel to damsel? Thanks for the continued look into this fascinating world. BJ
