Description

8 years before learning to draw, the City for Science and Industry of Paris, where I worked as exhibit conceiver, asked me to develop a concept of transparent books to show various levels of objects. These books should be installed in the exhibits. I drew three books in 1987-89: this trout (I made its dissection under the National Museum of Natural History control, but in fact I graduated in Comparative Anatomy earlier), a robot, and a futuristic car. The city ordered me that the car should not be outdated in 10 years, therefore I imagined a monospace car with a self-driving device, true that it was not outdated in 1999

Superb Illustration and attention for detail, love the tranlucent effect the colouring gives, perhaps another background with colour - would also increase the contrast and give more of a dramatic effect to the overall illustration? Excellent work.

Great detail. I love those kinds of transparent books you mentioned. I had one when I was a kid that had the human body at various levels. it was actually an old medical textbook my mom picked up somewhere. It was gross but very cool. Will we be seeing deeper into this fish? :-)

Beautifully done. I didn't realize that trout had a mouth similar to a salmon.

Excellent geometry in the scales. I'm not sure how you did that. This is really excellent pro work.
