Hello! My name is Jodie. I live in Minnesota where the temps can fluxuate by 20 degrees in one day. Most of my photos have been taken very close to my home, a 10 acre hobby farm., where I raise Alpacas and chickens. I am a band director, a musician/singer and a photographer/adviser on the yearbook committee. My camera of choice is a Nikon. I have a D90 and a D70. I also have a SB800 flash and favorite lens is Nikon 18-200mm AF-S, with VR. Revisiting the visual arts is something I should have done years ago. If I see something remarkable, I just try to capture it. Nobody else will ever see it quite that way again so I hope you try that, too. This is just like expensive therapy for us. Thank you for visiting and may you have a peaceful day!

Touching words and image !

I love the symbolism which may be implied more so reading the accompanying poem. The selective coloring makes it very dramatic.

Interesting capture, Jodie. Poignant, to say the very least.

@marlene, it isn't selective coloring. THAT is how I found it and only cropped it. :0)

WoW @ your words only Jodie :D .. Before seeing Marlene's comment.. For a sec i thought it was selective colouring as well.. But before start writing.. Looked deeper and found some colours "shades" on some areas and then knew it was as is :) I really do love how the contrast and lighitng turned out Ms.. Very well done and lovely shot. Thank you and have a nice day JOE

I like this image alot. Wish the flower was a bit larger. Had you not mentioned what it was, I might have trouble figuring out what it is. The red against the gray stairs certainly make this picture. When I read that it is not selective coloring, I was even more amazed. The curve around the stairs captures the eye and somehow lead the eye the flower. The compostion of this shot is excellent

Maybe forgotten, but certainly not unnoticed. And now, immortalized in this photograph. The softness of a flower on the carved stone provides a visually pleasing contrast.
