Description

Why, oh why would anyone... hike miles into the wilderness on the cusp of a Winter storm, lie in a coffin-sized tent for twelve hours in the rain, dress and eat mush in the predawn darkness, and hike into the wet, frigid morning just to capture the view? This was my last chance to stay in the High Sierras this year, so I spent the first couple days of October on the Pacific Crest Trail near Reynolds Peak, north of Yosemite, at over 3000 meters. It was wild!

They would hike and stay like that to see the sunrise over the mountains and view the mist. Not mentioning to get some great shots!

Incredibly incredible, thanks for fetching this gem to my monitor. Your caption sent me thinking. Do you normally "dress and eat" your mush? I never tried that, usually eat mine "naked". But if it's freezing, maybe I'd change and give it a little sweater.
