Description
Back in the fifties and sixties, millions of families eagerly followed the early days of space exploration in amazement as they remained glued to their radios and TV's, awaiting the tiniest of news snippets to arrive from space. Those days appear to be gone, as the only news today seems to be about crime, terrorism, war and dirty politics. With this image, I wanted to capture that spirit of wonder and adventure of space exploration that touched so many so long ago. I also want to honor all the visionaries and brave astronauts that dedicated their lives to the peaceful exploration of the final frontier.

My first thought was "that would make a perfect cover illustration if they ever reprint 'When Worlds Collide.'" It actually is closer to the book than the movie of the same name.
