Hi, this page is about terragen/landscape and 3D-rendering
BIO
I am exploring cgi since the days with the Commodore C=64 (anybody remember HiEddi?) in the 80's. After that i was working with Amiga500/2000 and DPaint and different raytracing programs like Reflections/Monzoom (german raytracer), Real3D. Unfortunately the Amiga didn't make it and i have to move to PCs. I have found Terragen (v0.8x) some years ago, searching the internet for cgi and landscape rendering. My first impression was that it is rather complicated and not very capable and returned to raytracing. About three years ago, i took another try on it and since then i am really impressed about the quality output.

Agree with you about the clouds... a TG weakness...still, the rest of the image is very realistic...I'm not a big fan of photo clouds but...you may consider them to complete this excellent realistic image :)

A real excellent TG artwork!

Yup - clouds can be a trick - on them I usaully do a broad thin covering or none at all. But I beleive a larger image would show more detail.

Thanks folks for your encouraging comments! :-) @Markal: I agree, photoclouds are an option and i am considering some of my sky photos for postwork. @Rich2: I rendered this one in 3000 pixels wide and scaled down. The only way to do better is more experimenting. sigh I'd like to keep the shadows, so the clouds have to stay where they are ... but who knows what i can do with postwork ...
