Description
Hi all
This is one of four variations of a commissioned piece for a local History Mag based around a local Highwayman George Davenport, they thought it was great so it was used for the front cover.
For the finishing touches I used the wonderful Art Actions by Adam Wright here at Rendo with a bit of tweaking, the clothes are from Daz.
Many thanks for looking and have a great weekend.
Chris

That's really great. Looks for all the world like an old woodcut. Excellent job.

Wonderful image Chris and of a local historical figure makes it even more special. At first I thought it was Dick Turpin without his horse. Excellent work and presentation. Well done!

You have an amazing ability to create very unique compositions. You've heard me say it before but congratulations and a well deserved opportunity. This one could have been etched in ye olden days. It's perfect.

A very cool idea. Reminds me of the old woodcut etchings of pirates and highwaymen you see in history books about the 18th Century. One crit though: maybe lighten up the background just a tiny bit, the hat and figure seem to be swallowed up by the overpowering blackness of the background. Maybe have just a slight hint of variation, like clouds or darkened trees at dusk, so the hat and the figure aren't so lost. If this image gets reprinted, it may run it all together, and your figure and details may be lost. Try squinting at it, you'll see what I mean. Think what happens when a picture gets faxed many times, it begins to look like mud. Also, try reducing this picture down to a small thumbnail illustration, how much detail will be retained? Just some thoughts to help, I hope. Other than that, I do like the idea. A good start.
