This is a photo of a Confederate soldiers tombstone in this small cemetery. I have previously shown.

I'm sure it's authentic... I just wish 2X4 peices of wood lasted that long. I know wood, I'm a carpenter, so I know that wood in the ground was just placed there - if it was a year old, it would already be grey and splintering. The stone is marble and will last for centuries to come... Why did someone put the 2X4 into the grave???

I don't know mikeerson as I said, I have never been there before, inside the would is place stones instead of just the bare ground. I do not know who is taking care of the site, but after seeing it all. I'm glad someone is Woofee

Looks like he survived the war, died 1889. I'm a great fan of the Confederate forces, some of the most iconic American leaders and heroes came from that side: Robert E. Lee, Stonewall Jackson.. but let's not forget the boys in blue either: Grant, Sherman, and last but not least, Chamberlain.
