Description

At the present, lava from the active Pu'u O'o volcano flows out thru lava tubes then feeds into two widely separated lava tubes that sends lava to the sea (the other is not shown here). At other times, there were 4-5 different areas where lava enters the sea. As far as home in the area, there are 3 visible homes that is about an hours walk away from this active lava flow. There are no roads for them to bring food and water supplies. They walk and backpack them in. They live on the Edge. Aloha and thank you for following this moonlite walk with Terry and I

These are very interesting. I thought about your images when making a BBQ the other day, and figured this would be one gigantic and good place to do a cookout. Kidding aside, this is excellent reportage.

Thank You to take us on this fantastic " moonlite" lava adventure, and show your island's real nature. Tell Terry to get a yellow short next time (LOL). And hope nothing happening with those ppl who choose to live very close to the alive volcano. Aloha

With everyone else, I agree this is an amazing series and thank you for sharing them as well. There are many captures I like but this one stood out for me. Like the ancients I feel our planet as a living entity and we are just temporary visitors here. This view resembles a barely glimpsed "eye" (the red glow under the hood of cooled lava) of this world...heat = life, steam/vapor = breath... ever growing, ever changing...
