Description
Been slaving my butt off for the past few years, and by far I can only fit 3D in my very minimal free time. I hope I get more time next year!

Great looking work and a fascinating wip image

This certainly poses the chicken and egg dilemma. How would you know only that much plan view of the headlight was revealed unless first you had made a clay model? On the other hand, how would you know the exact dimensions of width and length and height unless you made drawings and presented it sitting on tires and wheels? This is a quality lock. It does not yet evaluate how to make the fender from a single sheet or steel, fiberglass or without tool markds, wrinkling or buckling, nor what sort of recess is needed to house the ehadlight and it's surrounding bezel. Tolerances are not specified. It seems too good for just art and not good enough to be a build to for a real life size object. Thus I see it as for entertainment. Once the whole car appears it can be in a video or movie though for cloesups they might want a somewhat more detailed version. At this point it is ready to go on a wall to show the relation between a surface and it's projections. It even shows the state of the art in mathematical smoothing curves though that tends to be the province of wireframes. I don't think it proves that you must have projections to make a surface nor does it show that a surface has technical roots in 2d drawings or even traced or outlined photographs. I'm pleased you put it up. I don't like you calling it "3D." This object is not a solid. It is not even a surface that totally encloses a 3 dimensional volume. Ruled surfaces have only two gradients at each point. While it looks 3D in the real world it is 2D in the transformational world where the formulas and curves model it.

Very skillful 3D modelling.
