Description

This was for a commission that got cancelled right as I was almost done with it. That's fine, I actually needed a piece of line art without watermarks on it, so now I can use this for my web page. This was the same semi-asian fantasy world as the women in "My Lady's Weapon", so to suggest the asian elements, I included the cherry trees in the background. I had a great time working with this cream/rose/brown color scheme. I love doing line-art; I feel like I'm really in my element with this kind of work. This was done almost entirely in Corel Painter, using a Poser render as a template (and photoshop for some color correction just because I'm more comfortable with it). This image is available as a high quality print

Looks great! Even the Drow (well, some of them anyway) can appreciate some of the simpler things in life. They aren't all about murder, mayhem, betrayal and darkness.

Have I mentioned how mighty you are, lately? I don't think "wow" is quite going to cover it this time.

I like line art too, but I use a lettering brush and Speedball ink pens with india ink on bristol board. Rapidograph pens make mechanical looking lines though they are appropriate for Anime and fantasy images, where the color and mood are the primary features. Much like this image. A talented piece and a shame the customers backed out!
