Description
Triffids are fictional plants, capable of rudimentary animal-like behaviour: they are able to uproot themselves and walk, possess a deadly whip-like poisonous sting, and may even have the ability to communicate with each other.
Some of you may remember the sequel, Night Of The Triffids, to the 1951 movie, Day Of The Triffids.

The Day of the Triffids... By Clifford Simak. This is one of the books of SF that I've read several times. The movie didn't follow the story and was very poor. But your triffids.... brrrrrrr...... I will never walk near this garden. Thanks for remember me how horrible a triffid could be. I hope we don't see green comets ... lol Congratulations

I think if you care to check you will find that it was John Wyndham who actually wrote The Day of the Triffids, as I too have read the book.
