I am a 30-year old American woman, married to a Portugese man, and we live happily together in Brussels, Belgium. My husband bought me my Canon IXUS 530 for Christmas three years ago, and thus a new hobby was born. Since then, I have also used a Fujifilm S9000, and received my first DSLR camera, a Canon EOS 40D for my 30th birthday.
I have a BA in World Religions and East Asian Studies. My other interests include crochet, role-playing, cats, language studies, poetry, cooking, collecting prayer beads, and so much more. I have found the Renderosity community to be a delightfully warm and helpful group of people. With your continued support, I am learning more every day. This is damn near perfect. The POV is genius, and the cropping isn't any less so. You've achieved a gorgeous but sad mood here, and that ain't easy -- you have to walk the line between boring and melodramatic to get juuuuuust the right amount of melancholy. You have clearly mastered that technique. The only fault I can find with this image is that it could be just a tad more contrasty, you know, to make the colors stand out a bit more. However, that's not nearly enough to make me give this any lower than a 5. Excellent work!

There's something about this picture that makes me want to keep silent, yet I can't. This mausoleum-like image is very peaceful, and yet quite disturbing. Personally, I believe in the continuity of life, which is perhaps why I find this image very peaceful for what it represents. It's ironic, and you've captured the essence of it well. Two words come to mind, but rather ironic- "morbidly peaceful"

Definitely, you make me discover treasures in my own city. This photograph is superb and I like much contrast between the columns and the wall.
