Description

Thanks to all who critiqued and viewed my last picture! My skill level is steadily progressing and I'm looking forward to buying Vue Infinite sometime soon.I can see a jump in quality once I get Vue.Until then I'm content. To those who are wandering what I am looking for in a critique,I'm wandering if you catch a sense of a story? Or could there be more done with lighting?Should there be anything added? Is there something distracting?I'm eager to learn and I'm always happy to see your comments!Cheers!

Well...This is a top knotch, spledid, very well constructed render !!! I love that wall creeping character !!! The lighting is extraordinary well done...you even can see the reflection of the blue light on the guard's back !!! The posing is perfectly and the scene is impeccable setup... This is a textbook example of how a 100% render should look like !!! 10 stars / 5

Great concept. Vue has it's place but control of lighting I found can be challenging.

I really like this the facial lighting is really good not easy to do in daz. Vue is a great program a little hard at first can be bought on ebay quite cheaply for older versions.add a open background guard stood atop the battlements vue is great at doing background work.

To be more critical the viewer needs to know if you are trying for realism or fantasy or both and if it's a scene from a story and if so it needs a preface to make a judgement of artistic intention. This scene leaves me wondering what is he guarding, why is the wall crawler more advanced or spectral than the guard or is it an alien after some unknown artifact which is great on it's own and lets the mind draw it's own conclusions, but maybe to add a hint for a reason the creature is I assume going to decapacitate the guard and move on to the rest of his mission. To tell a story in a single frame is very difficult without a beginning and just two characters in frame unless they are in an everyday situation. The lighting is excellent, Vue will obviously open a whole new can of worms but the quality of your artistic ability is undeniable and the thing that stands out above the quality of the actual render. This is absolutely the coolest image I've seen today! As a matter of fact I just posted a render using the same armour only a couple of hours ago. "Small World!"

Chrispoole you bring up some really good points.I feel in this case and who am I kidding in other cases of art I will do it will be more of a snap shot of a scene like from a good novel and lends to the viewer searching for there own answers.I agree that it is hard to get accross a story or theme with just one picture and it will take time, study and thought. Thanks for your critique and honesty! I also want to thank GVDV,Cole 4965,bilmiles,Crimson desire, pops,Korstempler, for your words of encouragement and thoughtfullness in writing a comment. Theres more to come. Dean McClelland

Very nice. Superb and subtle lighting. Exemplary work in DS, which has a lot more going for it than many give it credit for. Well done.
