An Idea: by Anias
Anias finished up all the mundane chores that Elgon threw at him--the recording and the measuring. He knew the magistrate kept him busy so that the public wouldn't realize that Anias was the brains of the operations. At least the magistrate realized that Anias had it all figured out when that Clio broad was finally arrested and hauled off to headquarters.
Not a moment too soon.
As for that dishy doctor lady, well, it was obvious that she had the hots for Anias. But how could he make sure that the rest of the male Lothario's in Athens stayed away?
As Anias finished his work and headed back to headquarters, he wondered if he might run into his cousin Lykaios. Lykaios had his finger on the pulse of the city.
Ah, wasn't that Lykaios over there. Perhaps he could get a free drink from his cousin in exchange for the information he had.
"Hey Lykaios!' Anias called out. "Over here!"
Lykaios looked around to see who was yelling at him: by Lykaios, Sleazeball Reporter
He shook his head in disbelief; maybe he had time to slip away. What was that idiot thinking, yelling at him like this? Anias was going to fool around and blow his cover.
"What?" Lykaios gritted through his teeth. "What are you thinking? Haven't I told you never to talk to me in public? Do you want to mess up our perfect setup?"
Though Lykaios hated it, Anias was his cousin, and a more bedeviling person there never was, but his mother said he must be nice to him, and he was a good source, most of the time.
Anias grunted, "Ya should be glad to see me; after all, I do yer dirty work for you. How else would you get all these great leads without me? I am thirsty; buy me a drink."
"Tell you what, Anias; why don't we go to a nearby taverna where it has a nice quiet back room, where we can talk."
"Do I get my beer?" Anias growled, "no beer, no information."
"Yes, yes
