Description

captured last Sunday (October 8th) in Rulles (South Belgium), on a clump of Aster flowers

"A star Aster"by astro66. The peacock (Inachis io) is indeed one of the last butterflies to be seen around in the fall season, as also proven by the many excellent macros of this colorful butty uploaded these last days :

It sure seems like the Peacock-butty is more resistant to the cold than other butties seeing how they usually are the last one to go. Must be all that fur they have on their body....keeping them warm and cousy. Beautiful capture! I would have loved to see that close-up on its own or at least share the same size as the other shot though. Have a great one. #:o)
