Maybe rendertime was caused by the extreme roughness of terrain... very nice render by the way, very moody

Hillrunner said it above ^^. Try reducing some of the roughness value in the Terrain or reducing the Scale value (if used). Steep uprights also take longer to render & if you have displacements will only add to the render times.

Lovely render. Terrain roughness+misty atmo made the render a long wait, I guess.

Great looking image!....very moody/mystical!!....I agree with all above, the main culprit in causing the long rendertime is the roughnes of the terrain....I tend to knock the roughness of the terrain down a bit then use fairly large displacements on it for added detail (with smaller displacements used on the land materials for foreground detail)...as Woz explained above it's a bit of a trade-off for rendertime because displacements will add to it but will produce some great detail at a lot less cost than rough terrain...IMHO....^_^.

Also if redo blocks was active (which may not be necessary) it can lengthen render time. On the image - cool atmosphere and mood. Those terrain towers are stunning

I like the way the mist swirls around the distant group of peaks. Wonderful sky...
