Description

Hello all! I am back on line after a month on here.. then two weeks of no internet and a real big move! All moved into my new house finally!! ( 'cept for the garage stuff that still needs to be organised !! love my new home here!!..twice as big as the other !! I was MUCH too busy to do many photo shoots but one Sat I managed to go to a pow wow ! . It was dissapointing and the light was harsh and nothing. When I was walking to my car I saw him from across the park far off. This guy here. It was like from another time . His name is Robert and he is a graphic artist -full of personality !.. A single parent. I ran hard and caught up to him and asked him if I could take his picture. He smiled walking away and said I have to take my son to the bathroom . LOL so I waited out side of the restroom and finally he came out. He was too busy with his son . FInally I asked his friend to watch his son . I asked him nicely if he would stand in front of the white Tepee . He was very proud and challenged me on several topics. I was intimadated by him . His spirit was strong humourous. He said oh so your going to use me ? LOL I told him that I loved his look and would send him the picture . He still got in my face and gave me a hard time ! But i got the shot I had hoped for that entire day that I ignored my moving. Thank you Robert if you see yourself on here -( i gave him my gallery info). Taken with my nikon pocket cam on macro mode . Gave it a sepia tone for an old western feel ! Anyways, good to be back on here I have so missed you all., I still have lots to do around my new house and then am going to be working on a new project for my church doing family pictures . SO I will try and come on here as much as I can. Thank you to all of you that wrote me and said hi, You are all so dear to my heart on here..!!...I realised that this is the longest time away from Rend since I came on. Wonderful to have the internet again and see all of your fine work I have missed more than I can say!!...will try to catch up as I can. * please view full size for best result thank you! love to you all! ((( Great Big hug! ))) ♥ ~ Kimmers ! :O)

Him plenty mad! Squaw not take picture of brave warrior! Heap trouble! Beautiful portrait of Robert, the Reluctant Brave. The clarity is fantastic. Looks like a painting. Is that a black and white shot converted from color? Or like you said, the lighting was horrendous that day. I believe there is a superstition among native Americans that if you take their picture, you capture or rob them of their soul or spirit. Maybe that's why he gave you a bad time, Kimmie. Welcome back to the fold, young lady!!! Missed you!

yes he is young and proud and will learn of pride will make him fall. He did put his pride aside here to be know around the Earth here. But you did well with this photo; I love it and the way his face is. Just wonder which tribe he is from? I know some full blood Indians here in Louisiana and they faces is more round and heavier than this young man.

Welcome back Kimmie! Glad your move went well, I know what hassle that can be. This photo is awesome and the sepia touch is just right. I'm on my way to taking better pictures, I hope, and to help me accomplish that, I bought a camera, a Sony DSC H5, while visiting here in Texas for a few months. :-) Take care, Kimmie - it's wonderful to have you back - I've missed your photos!
