Hi! I like the color combination in this image. You've managed to nail that pretty well. I also like the composition and I especially like the lamp pole. The posing of the guy seems a bit strange to me. I can't really make out what he's doing. Also, I think there should be more texture in the road. It takes up a great deal of space in your picture (and the name as well). I would have given it maybe a bump or displacement map. Maybe even give it a more wet look. Finally, I think the mood in this picture could be enhanced by adding more birds (it was great of you to think about a detail like that. Impressive!) and actually turning the lights of the lamp poles off. Best regards... Jacko

Hello, thanks for the comments and advice ! It's nice that you like the overall feeling of the image, because it's heavy compositing, which was quite hard. For the sky, I used a background as a base, and then several layers with cloud brushes by Raptura, and different effects :) But the city in the background is a retouched photograph, the grass is a terrain exported from Carrara, and the trees are brushes too. It's true, had a hard time posing the guy ^^ He's exactly doing what I wanted him to do, walk with his arms folded because of the cold and thinking at the same time :P But it doesn't look right ! lol Good points about the road and the details too.

I do like it. I agree the road would be better with a bump or displacement map. However, I wish I could do as well.

The guy is only odd because he is at a bit too much of an angle but probably the only way to show that he's walking - unless he's turning away from the girl and the dog and heading for the sidewalk which would be typical of a brooding guy. Even in movies 20 to 30 degree angle views of a person can look awkward. Anyway, I really like this because the viewer can create the story theirselves. Excellent Job!
