Description

So this little bird is my first "postable" pick of a bird in flight. You don;t understand how fast these guys are. They are as fast if not faster than swallows. So I know it's not perfect and really could be better all round but he does have a reed in his mouth to build a nest and I think my final compo is decent... *fishing*

Hmmm not bad, and yes could be a fair bit better ;P would be good to know what setting you used (ISO and all)... keep at it soon you'll get a stunning shot... I know! Thanks for sharing though ;)

ISO 100 - it was a bright bright day. I like ISO 100 for the low noise anyway... And my shutter speed was over 1/250...

I think the error was in focusing - I prefocused on him in the bush but they dart so fast - not much time for anything...

I really like a movement of a wings, and whit its yellow body stands out of a dark area of a background. Quet cool shot!

Not a bad first inflight-capture at all. I can imagine how quick they must be. You prefocused him? So you didnt put your cam in continueous focusing or whatever its called in english? A faster shutter would probably have helped too i reckon. Great first attempt though. My first was horrible...as was my second..third...fourth...and so on, lol.

I tried sevro mode once and didn't really like it - I thought the prefocusing would be better - hee hee, it wasn't.

I think your experiment paid off well. You may not have the sharpest of focus but you may find it hard to repeat the pose of the fully backward spread wings, which adds a lot of animation.

I think had I been standing in a better position and panned using my monopod maybe it would've been better?
