The image in question a wallpaper from DigitalBlasphemy? :) I liked that one too. An idea to improve your image (or get the look from the other) would be to use the FRESNEL shader in the luminance channel of your material.

Very nice work! I love the cobalt colors and the fairy on top is a nice touch. Maybe gaussian blur out the background mushrooms a little to give a better sense of depth.
