Description

Slooooooowly getting back in the saddle. No cause for celebration yet. This was taken at the edge of a puddle in the middle of the road near the pond. I don't know if you can tell, but this frog is absolutely tiny, as in less than an inch long. Very shy little dude, but he let me take his photo a few times before ducking back under the murky water and swimming away. I know the big purple leaf in the corner is an eyesore but I didn't like the way the rest of the photo looked when I cropped it out, so there you go. Just so you know, this has been tampered with. I selectively lowered the saturation levels on everything but the frog, and also did my usual fiddling with the brightness/contrast. I really like selective saturation-lowering, it's an interesting alternative to selective black-and-white coloring. Big thanks to everyone who commented on my last image.

Love the composition and color. I didn't mind the purple leaf...it took me a moment to even see it. Glad to see you back in the saddle. WB

Very cool capture of this little guy. I wouldnt worry about the leaf. It works for me; it helps to emphasize the depth in the image and the size/scale of this tiny foggy. Excellent capture:)

You've out done yourself with this one. And I like very much the desaturation of the background. Bravo>>:0)

All sorts of frogs hopping around East Texas these days. This cute little feller was good enough to pose for you. The leaf works! It is as if we are peaking through to see what froggie is up to!

yeah the first thing came to mind is that he's a wee gorgeous little thing - but I'd probably scream when he hop onto my hand :) ewwww :) I think you've done wonders with lowering the saturation levels because it really makes the wee thing stands out ... less than an inch long you say? Wow - I don't think I will realise how small he is - I think I'd get the idea after looking at the leaves as a measurement thing ... but yeah ... This is truly lovely and cute! ... In a froggish kind of way :) cheers Tina
