Volumetric clouds do cast shadows as you see and they can overshadow other volumetric clouds as you can see. I even put a radial light inside the cloud to show you what effect it can have on the clouds and shadow on the snow.
usually my clouds are over water so the shadows dont usually show. I just thought you would like to know.
