You really got the colors on the shell on this one. The light must have been perfect. Great shot of this lovely slider.

when I use to go fishing as a teenager, we would loose fish alreadfy caught because we left them in the water on a line. finally brought a bucket so the turtles would not have a lunch on our efforts. really a clear shot through water

Excellent capture, how in the world did you get that close, I have tried to take turtle pics and they alway duck under the water before the photo is captured? Anyway great shot!!

Gingerlou: the wildlife I encounter in the arboretums, gardens and parks I go to are surprisingly people friendly. You can get very close to them, and unless you offer them food, they will tend to ignore you and go about their own business. If you project an air of relaxation, they don't feel threatened. They don't run off, dive into the water or panic when you approach them. I wish cats and dogs were like that.

In a lake you say? Sigh...lucky bastards for having such exotic animals in the wild. Yesterday when i was out walking Eija, 2 mooses ran up before me....shortly after followed this dog chasing them....thats how exotic it is up here in the arctic circle, lol. Beautiful photo. Have a wonderful day. #:o)
