Description

"Very often people looking at my pictures say, 'You must have had to wait a long time to get that cloud just right (or that shadow, or the light).' As a matter of fact, I almost never wait, that is, unless I can see that the thing will be right in a few minutes. But if I must wait an hour for the shadow to move, or the light to change, or the cow to graze in the other direction, then I put up my camera and go on, knowing that I am likely to find three subjects just as good in the same hour." ~ Edward Weston

In the photography magazines I read how some professional photographers will wait hours, or even months, for the light and moment to be just right to capture a specific photo. How I envy their patience and the time they have to do this. Being short on time all of the time, I'm with old Edward. If the image isn't perfect right then, I usually move on and find something else. ----- Thank you for surfing in to comment on my last upload, On The Crest Of A Wave.

Just the other day I saw this abstract shadow on the wall caused by some wooden beams. I thought I really should shoot that...this shot reminds me not to procrastinate the next time and shoot. I missed the opportunity, you have captured this beauty, now you've inspired me. You've showen me the possibilities....Maika'i~ Aloha~

Exquisite texture and pattern details in the concrete, glass tabletops and waves. Excellent DOF, B&W was definitely the way to go for this one!

You sure captured some exceptionally cool lines. Great image. I never had the patience for landscape photography, most of what I've done is studio, and instead of having to wait for the right moment I always felt I was chasing models with my lens trying to get the right moment before it passed. Worst dialogue in the world, "Hold that, HOLD!!!" Of course, she turns to say, "Huh, hold what?" "What you were just doing." She tries to recreate what she thinks she had just done. Ergh... Thousands of photo sessions, this must have happened at least once a month. lol.
