A Tiger for Mea (Photoshop) www.renderosity.com/mod/gallery/index.php

I have been drawing since I was 11, some 33 years ago.
My 6th grade teacher, Mr. Knoss, was a great artist and I greatly admired his illustrations. He encouraged me to pursue my artistic interests at a crucial time in my development.
My High School art teacher "Vern", was also a great influence. He always challenged me to try different things.
I was lucky that my parents were very supportive of my interest in art. I studied at The Minneapolis College of Art and Design (1986-1990). Where I was humbled by many great artists that were far more talented than I. There it was that I rounded out my fine art skills, and then chose to major in Media Arts. Studied film, video and sound. Learned all the skills needed to shoot, direct, edit those mediums.
While pursuing a Media Arts major, I discovered computer graphics, still in it's infancy. This is where I came to an Epiphany. Here was a new medium, that incorporated everything I had previously learned into one new medium. Not only that, but it had new dimensions, interactivity, feedback, randomness, AI. I was hooked.
The next 17 years I learned and grew with the industry. Learning everything from how to create and manipulate digital imagery and create animations, to interface design and interactive authoring. My day job is an Information Architect, a fancy term for software interface design.
A few years back, my wife and I hit on some difficult times (As many people do) and it was during a very dark time in our lives that I discovered what became Renderosity, Initially I posted work, merely as a way to get myself back into the discipline of making new art.
I was delighted to find a world-wide community of talented artists, exchanging ideas and art!! I was thrilled! I have learned so much from you, and your art has brightened up my world. I am lucky to have made some great friends here, and I aim to do tributes to all of you!

Such beautiful dogs! Must have been a fantastic day...though I think you're wimp for not camping, lol. Of course, I'd be in my popup with a coffe pot and electric blanket :) So what did the psychic say? 'Eric won't me make popcorn at night?' 'I want to howl at the moon at 3am but they won't let me?' :) What's a dog do on its day off? Lol, thanks for sharing!!

arf, and another samoyed arf? Gosh, I hope no actual samoyeds were harmed in the experiment. Camping out is so much fun! arf. Looks like they enjoyed pulling the sled, but their camo fails without the snow. arf.

A friend of my Mom's had one of these gorgeous, gentle creatures as a guiding eye dog. She was amazing! she could romp and act ridiculous with the neighborhood kids like a puppy, but when the lead harness came out she jumped into her all business suit in a flash! They are such wonderful friends. Thanks for sharing yours. Skritch 'em under the chins for me. BJ

Awwww!!! I want one of those! They are soooo gorgeous!!! I once saw this cross between a samoyed, sibirian husky and a groenendal i think theyre called. It looked pretty much like a samoyed with a bit of a yellow tint to its fur and one huge black circle around its eye....and best part...it was a puppyyyyy!!!! That is the most adorable thing i have ever seen! I love these shots Eric, thank you so much for sharing. #:o)

One can easily see the (biased) comments by the friends of the canines - no mentioning names though, LOL! This sounds like a joyous cacophonic event with a twist to the "tail". Great reportage and presentation.

Bravo, Yukon! Eric, what did you carry that was 25% your own weight on the hike?
jif3d
Love this doggie composition a real feast for the eye's (and flea's ? hehehe) but how can the stay so clean and white, most dogs seem to love rolling in the mud, right after you wash them ! actually, Yukon looks a little embarrassed at being weighed, I think I would be a bit embarrassed as well, super stuff Eric ~Cheers~ :o)

You have two beauties Eric, and you all had a smashing day. They are loyal companions. My neighbour had a Samoyed... George. He visited everyones kitchen in turn - our day was always Friday. What a great personality. He always lay in the middle of the road and would not move for any traffic, everything had to drive round him, and when the ice cream van started his chimes, George joined in. I used to worry that the noise was hurting his ears, but his tail was wagging ten to the dozen. Some owners collect their hair and have it spun.
