Description
G'day.
This is a macroshot of a Trilobite eye.
It is a fossilised eye of a slater like animal that lived in the sea at least 500 million years ago in the Cambrian era (yes 500 mil).
A while ago Babuci uploaded a trilobite fossil and i have been meaning to go and photograph the eye of a specimen (my Dad collects fossils).
So this is for you Babuci.!!
The eye is approx 9mm wide, taken with 100mm macro lens on tripod. It is just like a bee/dragons flys eye but harder and hence well preserved as a fossil.
Enjoy
Lou
