Description
Today, my father posted a photograph of a 'tropical beach': the banks of the river Waal in Holland. At that place we saw this bird. We think it is a duck of any kind probably a juvenile one..but we are not sure about that.
Thanks to Danny (danob) we now know that it is a Fulvous whistling duck. It is a tropical bird and the banks of the river Waal certainly are not the natural habitat of this duck.

He sure is a beautiful bold Duck, Lydia. I do not know what type he is. I amd sure someone here, especially Danny will know. I think his blue feet might identify him??? Superb capture!!! Excellent shots and perfect presentaion!!

An incredible duck species. The legs are quite different in construction and girth than I normally see here on any duck species. The body sleeker and The wings higher on the body and gently arched down the back - longer wing feathers than I am used to seeing too. It has quite the hook on the beak! :-) Excellent and as you can guess - detailed.
