Description

Traveling Star Habitat "Radiant Dawn" was completed in 1658 FCE. It was one of the smallest Human-T'lar space habitats of the 4th Era. A total of 40 "Radiant Dawn" class Traveling Star Habitats were built. Most of them served well into the 1900's FCE. The "Radiant Dawn" class Traveling Star Habitat "Distant Horizon" was the first Human-T'lar vessel to reach the Andromeda galaxy. The concept for Traveling Star Habitat "Radiant Dawn" is one of the smallest vessels that fit into my definition of traveling habitats that have large bays for various ship functions replacing the smaller rooms and decks used on more traditional starships. At 4 kilometers (roughly two and a half miles) in its longest dimension, Radiant Dawn is about the size of a small metropolitan suburb. The design for Traveling Star Habitat "Radiant Dawn" is unusual for me in that the vessel is much wider than it is long. The shape of the ship with its two wing-like side hulls is deliberately meant to evoke the image of a giant bird. It is inspired by the spaceship designs from the 1985 science fiction film "Dune."

Interesting concept. I also like the idea of enormous starships transporting multiple generations of travelers.

I really like when you launch the ships into their "natural environment" like this. And I really like the creativity of you cool captions and stories.
