Actually, it's not as impossible as you might think, Panko. ;) Humans are 'K-Strategy' creatures - like most large mammals, we have a small number of children that we invest a large amount of time into. However, 'r-strategy' mammals do exist - your cat is one. And the vast majority of life on earth is 'r-strategy' oriented. If you assume a few small changes in the genome that allow women to have babies quickly and easily (babies more like kittens, and in litters) and assume that sex-determination favors the female (pretty easy if the gender-determining gene is female, as it is with reptiles and birds), and you assume that it's estrogen rather than testosterone that stimulates bone and muscle growth, it's not that difficult for the images you have created to come about. ;) Five stars for a great image and a great series. =)
