Description

Ok, now I realize this may be a weird title but hang in there with me for a moment... Every so often I cruise Renderosity and notice that there are new artists out there who may not make renders that belong in art books yet (very very few do art that well) but have improved a whole lot since they first started rendering. More often than not, those artists go completely unnoticed, their renders ignored and not a person offers any sort of comment, encouragement, constructive criticism and whatnot. This greatly irritates me! Those people work their butts off as much as those of us who can put an image together in an hour (including post work LOL) if not more! Art to me is not about being perfect but embodies the idea of growth. When you as an artist can grow from ideas and inspirations, than you are already there! An artist is NOT determined by how many comments one receives because frankly I have seen mediocre pieces (and yes, some of mine have been VERY mediocre as well) here with 40 plus comments and wondered "Now how come that guy on Page 4 got passed up and had 3 when his image is as least as nice as this one with 40 + comments..." We all know somewhere it's a popularity contest... It is VERY intimidating to someone new here to look through the Galleries and often some of them think "Why would I bother even posting here... there is no way I will ever be like ". So for the remainder of the year, I have decided that I will be giving out the "Golden Wacom" for those lesser known... those I feel have tried to make themselves a better artist by trying something new, by trying to improve themselves. This is an attempt to bring some attention to those lesser known in the Renderosity world! May they prosper and grow :) My first "Golden Wacom" goes to DarkPascual! His/Her Gallery is located here: http://www.renderosity.com/mod/gallery/browse.php?user_id=459326 Please do take the time to check out their Gallery and offer a comment! Much Love, Mel PS: I have nothing but love to those better known, let me be clear about that, but let's help the new generations of artists, shall we?!

I always try to pick new artists that I dont know and comment on thier art . I have been here for over 3 years now and if you look at my fav artists they are ones that I saw potentual and have become really great artists. So I say Bravo to you Mel . I agree 100% . It is hard sometimes for me to keep up with all my favs and comment on new but I try. Oh and yeah awesome image :). It was the people here who help to to grow as much as I have . I am an ok artist .But I see some new ones here that blow my butt in the water

Ive just saw the message box (I didnt know that the site has one) and saw this!!!! I really want to thank you for notice my gallery and let others know about me. Its really nice to feel that the thing that you do with patience and love are apreciated by others who have way much talent or experience than one. I hope one day I could be at least the half as good that all you are, and still be humble enough to see others who are just begining and say: "Cool job, keep it coming!!!". Thats the best thing that you could do for the rookies. Sorry if Im too emotive. We latins are too emotional sometimes. Again, thank you very much. P.S: Are you gonna actually give me a Golden Wacom? Or at least a regular one? just kiddin

I simply agree, once shunned for comments so like this one. There are many talented unknowns in this website. That far achieve better than those that are laced with comments. It's what drove me once from this place. I now create and post when I have time. I no longer worry about comments here, for I have friends and access to art professors that give me guidence and compliments. The world today is harsh. All about who is who. If I had the time I would go to each artist unknown and give a compliment. All I can say is the unknowns out there I've seen you beat the popular names a hundreds time even without 1 comment to encourage you. Let not comments be the judgement of your art here. This place at best is about names. I've seen some 30+ comments posted on a name and actually the picture wasn't as great as some of the lesser known people here. -chuckles- After this I am sure I won no popularity contest. This piece is astounding, I love everything about it. It's magic, I would indeed hang it on my wall if I had a chance to buy it framed. Beautiful work and excellently done. KDD
