Description

This is a female Ruby Throated hummingbird. It's not as colorful as the male that I posted the other day, but I find it beautiful none-the -less. I hope you enjoy it. Comments are welcome and appreciated.

Cheer... my super friend Nature have to offer to us much I look at this beautiful female and always in amazement in front of these so small birds. Imagine the number of blows of wings in only one second and after one day of hard labour it should be more muscular not... But on the other hand if us human do the same thing then... Have would become super muscular and can be able to move... loll...((Bravo...mon ami super La Nature as beaucoup nous offrir Je regarde cette belle femelle et toujours en erveillement devant ces si petits oiseaux.

Wonderful macro! Rich color and compo. Maybe not as colorful as the male but I think I like this shot much better as it captures more personality and less glitz.

Rebelsoul: Yes, there was a feeder just to the right of the shot. I opened a window that swings out just enough to keep it from blocking my view, then set my tripodup with two legs on the window sill and one on the floor. Then it was just a matter of waiting for the opportune moment. I swear it knw what I was up to because many times as soon as I got her focused in, she would dart away. It took a whole lot of shots to get this one. :P

And this one is just as amazing as the male shot. I just can't get over the clarity in the feathers. And you're using the same cam as mine, so I feel like there's hope for me yet. lol Fantastic shot, John. :)
