Description

In medieval European folklore, the Incubus is a male demon (or evil spirit) who visits women in their sleep to lie with them in ghostly sexual intercourse. The woman who falls victim to an Incubus will not awaken, although may experience it in a dream. Should she get pregnant the child will grow inside her as any normal child, except that it will possess supernatural capabilities. Usually the child grows into a person of evil intent or a powerful wizard. Legend has it that the magician Merlin was the result of the union of an incubus and a nun. A Succubus is the female variety, and she concentrates herself on men. According to one legend, the Incubus and the Succubus were fallen angels.
There are a number of variations on the theme around the world. In Zanzibar, Popo Bawa primarily attacks men and only in their own beds. El Trauco, according to the traditional mythology of the Chilo

Thanks for the fascinating information, and the superbly made picture [a very fitting companion piece to "Succubus"] I'm no afficionado of male beauty so I can't comment on that aspect. Certainly using the old personality classification system using facial shapes he would be 'saturnine' - so that fits ... also he brings to mind a line from Shakespeare "Yon Cassius has a lean and hungry look; such men are dangerous. An aging incubus was sitting in the food court of the local mall when a young man with long spiked green, purple and yellow hair sat on his bench. The incubus couldn't help but stare. After a long while the young man asked the incubus,"Whatsa matter, you never seen someone express their individuality before?" Very handsome model and excellently realized artwork! Thankfully, God did not create angels as sexual beings, so that the third who followed Lucifer in rebellion and were hurled to the earth; cannot really "lay" with people. Makes for an interesting fantasy story, though. I like the gothic touch to this.
