In South Africa a hill like this is also known as a "kopje" or "koppie", captured in the Natal midlands. A scene I would like to dedicate to Nikolay for the time we were together in Africa.

What a wonderful shot!! Oddly enough, reminds me of a man-made hill in Southern Minnesota! Would be a great view of the surrounding area!!

Wonderful capture, especially of the hill that looks a mesa with foliage. It does seem manmade, because each side is the exact mirror image of the other. The mountain way in the right background looks like the San Gabriel Mountains in Southern California on a smoggy day.

we just call them small hills.we do not have a fancy word. very beautiful farm land and looks very fertile. the highest hill in the US is at Poteau,Oklahoma without being considered a mountain

Sublime Vista, Oom. The land indeed looks very fertile, truly beautiful. The mention of kopje always brings to my mind Thomas Hardy's poem "Drummer Hodge" - "His landmark was a kopje crest that breaks the veldt around; And foreign constellations West each night above his mound". Magnificent post. Wonderful dedication to Nikolay. Na night & Hugs. Di.

Stunning landscapeshot again Piet. The way that mountain hides in the haze really looks amazing. I really like that patch of green as well when everything else seems to be so dry. Excellent work once again! Enjoy your weekend. #:o)

Ahhhh, Look at Oom Piet showing off our beautiful country! ;0) Nice going there Oom! Yes Yesitis, we call it a "kopje" in SA. Actually, my parents live right on top of one. Can you imagine that? Breathtaking views from there - really really lovely. Oom Piet, once again you've outdone yourself! Marvellous balance in your capture.
