Description

Today, when we change our clocks from summertime to wintertime, I cannot but think of this time in my life. I am old, the machinery in my body is beginning to jam, the wheels need more and more oil to run acceptably smooth. But, do you see, the machinery, the old cog-wheels still are golden, despite the rust. My life is still is wonderful, and that depends of that i don't let the machinery stop. Much of the oil this old machinery needs, comes from you dear friends, and from being a member of Rosity. Sitting here by my computer, I can use it like a conductor's baton, making colors and forms merge to harmonic, or disharmonic symphonies of colors, illustrate issues that are essential to me, or just making what is beauty to me. I would not change it for solving crosswords and playing Bingo, that I often hear people of my age do. Not for anything in the world!!!! I see my life as a privilege, as long as I can continue creating, what then happens lies in God's hands So my friends, this is my ponderings for today, and also a big THANK YOU to all the wonderful people I have met and still meet at this place. YOU are the oil my machinery needs!!! Hugs from a little old lady :-) PS. That woman on the image still is young, but that mirrors how I feel inside. The outside is as it is, and that is irrelevant.

Now that is what i call serious pondering. So moving Gun...you sure have a way with words as well it seems. #:o) And hey...i didnt even see that woman untill i had read your notes. Such a gorgeous rusty abstract this is. This would make a perfect backdrop for any 3D-artist or portrait photographer....or simply to be used as texture when layering in PS or whatever. Awesome work my swedish friend!!! Hope youre having a beautiful sunday....ours have been glorious...but cold. #:O)

This is absolutely stunning - and your words are profound! Only today I caught a glimpse of myself, first in a mirror as I did my hair, then later on several more occasions in photos just taken of myself with my family (it's my daughter's birthday) and my thoughts were that I so despise what I see myself to look like now! Every picture my daughter loved the most, I hated the most! I sometimes wish I could simply be invisible since I cannot ever again have my youth back! It's a depressing state to get into I know, but inside, as you have said yourself, is still a young person with all the feelings and aspirations that used to drive me on - only now my machinery has become weary and dysfunctional... So I concentrate on creating things that to me are beautiful, although not always with the success I'd like to have!

Double bravo! Outstanding image...and wonderfully spirited personal statement! I'm not sure I'm aging quite so gracefully, but I'll second the emotion about creativity and sharing the results....

"From the stars and planets in their orbits to the turning of the tides: nothing is more universal, more pervasive, more elusive, more profound; nothing more fleeting and perhaps more abstract than Time. Yet the effects of Time are all too apparent. Perhaps Time itself is nothing more and nothing less than an artificial construct, devised for no other purpose than to allow humankind to perceive Order out of the Chaos in the Universe." Art Denger In your formidable montage I find the archetypical imagery exquisite, your commentary compelling. The lever in the foreground, which may also appear as a machete, is intriguing... it calls to mind the verse, [They are] like grass which groweth up. In the morning it flourisheth, and groweth up; in the evening it is cut down, and withereth... For all our days are passed away... we spend our years as a tale [that is told]... FIVE STARS, of course!
